The Commodore’s Quiz Night

On Saturday 26 April the Commodore’s Quiz Night was highly successful with 30 members attending. There were chocolates on the tables, and pizzas and a selection of fruit at the interval.

Mike Baker had devised various quizzes and games with a vast number of questions for the four teams. Although scoring seemed rather haphazard at the end the scores were very close; 57, 62, 63 and 63 points. This needed a tie break question to determine who had won the new rather handsome, 'quiz night' Trophy.

Thanks to Mike for giving us such a super evening.

Start of Season Party

The Start of Season Party on Saturday 29 March was a great success. Over 50 members and friends were transfixed by Pat Halling playing Vivaldi, Mozart, Brahms and fun pieces on his 230 year old violin. It was followed by an excellent buffet prepared by some of our ladies.

For the first racing of the season Sunday was fine and warm although with a rather patchy NE 1 gust 2 wind; fortunately there was very little current.
