Mid-Thames Trophy 2 May 2009 Details

SSC is 10 miles from AQSC and I think the easiest route from the the Lower Sunbury Road is to keep straight along to Chertsey Bridge and beyond (DON?T turn left up Weir Road at the traffic lights after the bridge; the next traffic lights are no right turn), through the town centre on the B375. After half a mile turn left on to the A320 dual carriageway and at the roundabout go right round to come back towards Thorpe Park and Staines.

MS Autoroute directions make it seem much more complicated than it is and Staines is a town to be avoided.

Boats can be left at the SSC before hand but for boat park details contact Richard Cannon on 01932 786636 .

There will be a briefing at 10:30am and a morning handicap race starting at 11:00am. After lunch (£5) there will be 2 more races, and then tea and prize giving around 4:30pm. All three races count with the the top 4 boats of each club in each race counting for the trophy. Two handed boats being sailed single handed should be having their handicap reduced by around 42 (Equivalent to 4.2 on AQSC club handicaps).

On Sunday 3 May 2005 there will be training and fun racing at Aquarius; they won't count towards the years results so very suitable for new members.

The Mid-Thames Trophy is an inter-club trophy involving Desborough SC, Littleton SC, Staines SC, Laleham SC, Hampton SC and Aquarius SC.

This year the event is hosted by Staines SC on Saturday 2 May. The river is a similar width to us running North South.

The club is on the A320, one mile from Thorpe Park, on the right-hand side of Chertsey Lane and one mile before Staines Bridge. Look out for the distinctive white pillars and the 'A' board (if put out).
