Work Party 12 March 2017
Mike Baker (VC–Programmes)

Some 22 people turned up for this, the first work party of the year. The day started wet and chilly but got better as the day progressed. Nigel had identified a variety of jobs to be undertaken, inside and out, so there was something for everyone to get stuck into.

The “winter quarters” were disassembled and packed away. While that was going on Pete Carpenter got to grips with the safety boat engines, giving them a good service and oil change. The interior team cleaned paint work, windows and sorted out the curtains. The driveway lights were removed and stored while a team worked in the trailer park, cleared rubbish from the moorings and trimmed some of the hedges around the place.

Meanwhile Deborah, Diana C, Diana H and Pat supplied the team with tea, coffee and bacon rolls during the morning and then set about preparing a late lunch for everybody.

By the end of play 70% of the jobs had been tackled leaving those that needed materials and or special expertise for another day.

Many thanks to all those that came down to help out on Sunday. I can assure you your time and efforts were greatly appreciated and a special thanks to the girls in the galley for an delicious lunch. Well done everyone!
