The Cundy long distance race was held concurrent with Summer 3 race
because there was a good E to NE 1 to 2 gust 3 (6 to 14 mph) wind
giving good sailing. There was confusion at the start because
half the fleet didn't know that the start direction had changed from
down stream to up stream. The up stream mark was
dropped
ahead of the lead boat 20 minutes into the race at Rivermead Island at
Sunbury. Mike Baker was
1st on BH but Peter Carpenter was 1st on PH so won the Cundy Trophy. It
was a very enjoyable race.
