Normally the Cundy Trophy long distance race is held when there are good conditions with an East wind concurrent with the 15:30 race.
Although a not an East wind wind there were good sailing conditions with an 8 to 12 mph fairly steady NW wind, the Cundy Trophy race was allocated to the 14:00 event in place of the TFC event.
The up stream mark was dropped ahead of the lead boat 20 minutes into the race near the Channel Markert at Sunbury. Steve Pischke was 1st on BH and PH so won the Cundy Trophy,
