About the club: I had a brief visit to the club with Richard - it's a lovely little 'Tales of the River Bank' building, with all that we need (including a bar). Access is very simple and the river is much wider than some rivers I have seen people trying to sail on (all those Paxtonites who try to sail on the Can take note). When I was there the river had a few brave chaps out rowing but otherwise was empty.

Richard tells me that when the wind is from the West or East its really good. When its from the North and South it sorts the real sailors from the pack because due to the effects of the raised banks the wind takes on a bit of a mind if its own. 1 wonder what Richard has ordered for the 14th

Route: It is likely most people will approach from the M25, at junction 12 take the M3 - towards London. Leave the M3 at junction 1, at the roundabout go nearly right round and leave on the A308 signed Kingston and Hampton Court. Stay on this road for approximately 2 miles. On the left is Kempton Park Racecourse, on the right you will pass the Hampton Water Works, then there will be a traffic lighted junction. At this junction turn right onto the B375 (Lower Sunbury Road). The Aquarius Sailing Club gate (with cream sign) is on the left after in about a quarter of a mile. - If you see some piles of sand on the right you have gone too far! - The entrance road is gated and fenced and passes to the right of some old water works. At the end of the road is the car park - stop here or you will get wet! Rigged boats are then walked down a slight slope to the river bank and slipway. Please avoid using up car park spaces with road trailers; leave on grass or in trailer park. Map

Note - on multimap (www.multilmap.com) type in a search for 'Lower Sunbury Road' - with the map at 10,000 you will see, on the south side of Lower Sunbury Road, Sunnyside Reservoir and Filter beds, the Aquarius entrance road is between these two areas of water.
