COMMODORES BIT
Firstly, I must thank everyone who helped at the working party on 11th March and particularly Joan Bray for the excellent lunch. The club is now shipshape and ready for the start of season.
This year's Aquarius Start of Season Party is on Saturday 25th March. It should prove to be an excellent evening. Take your seats EARLY to see boats that featured in "Hornblower", "Anna and the King" and many more. The show starts at 8p.m. prompt. John Heath will be showing us a selection of his many slides accompanied by many interesting anecdotes about the special boats he has built for film and television. There will be a free buffet during the interval and music later.
If you weren't there, you have already missed the theatre visit, the AQUARIUS Stakes, and Mary's Treasure Island all of which were excellent - but there is plenty more to come.
We have changed both the sailing and social programmes to make them more exciting, (Sprint races, Murder Mysteries and an Azalea Hunt! to name but a few). There are the old favourites - "The Easter Egg Trophy", "The Regatta and Jazz Barbecue" and the Bewl Weekends. If anyone has any special events they would like to see at the club, please let me know.
The stream is not too bad at the moment so I look forward to seeing everyone on the water on the Sunday 26th March.
GOOD SAILING and remember the PARTY on the 25th!
