Race Series

Race Series - Richard Cannon

All individual sailing races or events have a number allocated within a series, so that reference details can be recorded against it. Usually, a Trophy is allocated to a series.

The current Series at AQSC are generally:-

Spring Series; the 11:30 race up to August

Autumn Series; the 11:30 race from August

Summer Series; the 3:30 race from June to September

SPA Series (SPring Autumn) the 3:30 race up to May and from October.

Sprint Series ; a pair of short races at 3:30 scattered throughout the year

Fun Series; generally races at 2:00, no trophy

TFC Series; (Training, Fun, Cruising) generally non racing or novelty events at 2:00, no trophy

Regatta Series; all regatta events, 3 races count towards a trophy.

A member could choose to concentrate on series that suit the time that the member can allocate.

Members are encouraged to experience different boats, and different helm and crew at the 2:00 event (winning trophies is not jeopardised).
