BARBECUE, JAZZ NIGHT AND REGATTA - Diana Carpenter

After day after day of rain the evening of July 1st could not have been lovelier it was mild and calm — perfect for a night out.
A very large group of members and friends gathered, matching the planned for attendance, and were well rewarded with a foot tapping Jazz Band and a very filling BBQ cooked by Maggie and Andrea, Mike and Ron. Salads were provided and proved to be so popular they ran a little low towards the end. It was a most convivial evening.
The weather wasn't so co-operative for the Aquaris Regatta on the same weekend as there was very little wind and some current making for very frustrating sailing. Even so 15 helms took part. Mark Hollamby won the Regatta Trophy with 3 wins, Michael Stevens won the Novice Trophy and Madeline Hatton won the ladies Trophy with Joan Garrett as crew.
