Annual General Meeting And Prize Giving -
Most organisations having accounts and an elected management committee hold an AGM. It's the members opportunity to review the clubs financial situation and to ask questions or voice any concerns over the running of the club. It is also their chance to elect new flag officers and management committee members for the coming year; even to put themselves forward for election should they so wish.
Attendance this year was a bit of a worry, given the weather in late November/early December, but some 40 people managed to dig themselves out of the snow and turned up, which given the current 'full' membership number is down to 52 (i.e. entitled to vote) is not bad.

Supper was followed by Richard Cannon presenting the prizes. Richard keeps meticulous AQSC sailing records together with boat and personal handicap data. His results have never been questioned, mainly I suspect because nobody else understands what the hell's going on! The main thing is that Richard does it well and that's all that matters.
So who won what? Well, Graham Thompson just about walked away with everything going having sailed the most number of races. However, John Panting won the Cruiser Cup for the Spring/Autumn PH series and the Capsize Trophy (I'm sure Brenda will be thrilled with the Water Rat). Charles won the Spring/Autumn Saturday Trophy, and Trudi Hilton won the Most Improved Helm Trophy. There was so little difference between Imogen and Edmund Morris they were both awarded the Junior Helm Trophy for them to share..
Full prize details and helm rankings for the season can be found on our excellent website, which is also maintained by Richard.
