Panto Video &
Burns Night Supper
Tuesday 25 January

This event was first held last year. The Neaps and Tat ties were cooked at the club and the supper was accompanied by the traditional dram of the falling down water. I also seem to remember a chocolate and beetroot cake. Hey! Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. It must have proved popular because it was decided to repeat the evening again.

This year the supper was preceded by a showing of a video Rodger Wheeler took of the AQSC Panto so that members involved with the panto had a chance to see how it worked out. Rodger captured the Haggis and some twenty-eight people turned up to enjoy the evening. Attached is a picture of Imogen Morris bringing in the beast.

I understand it all went very well and by the end of the evening nothing was left of either the Haggis or its accompanying dishes. The diners apparently survived their close encounter of the Scottish kind so that was okay … but be warned, the Haggis is a persistent beast and is sure to return again about the same time next year!

12 December Cheats Christmas Lunch

This years 'Cheats Lunch' was organised and cooked by our esteemed Commodore Tony Hopkins. Tony decided to limit the lunch to some 50 people, still quite a large number, but less than last year which had proved difficult to cope with.

With the run of the new kitchen great things were expected and, in true Aquarius fashion, Tony rose manfully to the challenge. I am told the lunch was excellent and Tony said that the new appliances worked 'as advertised', which was good news.
