Saturday the 14 August had some extemely wet periods but fortunately by the evening fine weather had returned. Eleven members managed to fit in the AQSC Safety boat, by the addition of some chairs, for the trip up to Rivermead Island at Sunbury. The river was extremely packed, over most of the width, with craft of all types; it was easier to fit in having a small boat.

At 21:00 hrs thirteen boats, from Middle Thames Yacht Club, illuminated in various themes sailed by. At 21:30 hrs an excellent fireworks display started, although the view of low altitude fireworks was rather obscured by trees; next year we must remember to go a bit further upriver.

After the display we returned to the Clubhouse to finish with drinks and a general social evening. It made for an excellent different evening.
